Beware of fake pastors, prayer houses during pregnancy – Gynecologist warns women, shares experiences

A gynecologist, Dr Ado Zakari, on Friday advised pregnant women to desist from patronizing prayer houses for delivery to avoid complications.

Zakari, also the Director, Public Health, Kaduna State Ministry of Health and Human Services, gave this advice in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

The medical expert decried the increasing cases of pregnant women who patronised prayer houses and faith- based centres to assist them during deliveries.

He said this usually resulted into complications such as the Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF), excessive bleeding and death.

“ There is an increasing belief in our country that is taking over the minds of some pregnant women that it is better to deliver in prayer houses or some faith-based centres, where a pastor will pray for you and you deliver there.

Actor Kalu Ikeagwu reveals his fatherhood fears....

He is a lady’s man. Standing at six feet and light-complexioned, he is endowed with the features of a Greek god. Little wonder members of the opposite sex swoon over him, and lots of hearts were probably broken before he finally tied the knot a few months ago.

However, British-born award winning actor and scriptwriter, Kalu Ikeagwu is apprehensive as fatherhood beckons. Commenting on how many kids he would want to have in an exclusive chat with Entertainer, he says: “Well, it is God who gives. Hmmm… I don’t want to have more than I can handle. I am a bit apprehensive about being a dad because I know what I was like as a child and how unruly I was. And in this age where there are a lot of outside forces that influence children, I am praying for the grace to be able to discipline my kids with love. So, I want as many as I can handle but I don’t want more than I can handle, let us say three kids.”But then, Ikeagwu is already testifying to the joys of marriage. “I think I went for the best,” he says, as his face melts in a wrinkle of smiles. “When I prayed to God for my wife, I prayed for two things. I prayed that God should give me a wife who loves Him more than me and that she should be a companion to me.

Enough Is Enough

She was tired of being used. Every single night it was the same thing. After a long day of flirting with other women and paying her no mind he would send a text around nine to ask if he could come through. She knew it wasn't going to be one of those romantic dreams where her Superman would knock on the door with flowers behind his back and bags of groceries to cook dinner in the kitchen as she relaxed after a long day. It was the other way around. She was the groceries and he looked at her like a fast food drive thru to come through and vanish. And the worst part about it, he even made it quick.

How Far is ‘Too Far’? | My Friends Say One Night Stands Shouldn’t Count As Too Far

A couple of nights ago I was enjoying a relaxing evening with a few of my friends, and after several intense albeit jovial discussions on a whole range of issues, the topic reared its head towards the subject of relationships.
One of my male friends made an off-the-cuff remark along the lines of “I wouldn’t mind if my girl had a one-night stand cause it’s just a one off thing, no emotions are involved”.

I have to say, I was actually astounded- not just because of the comment, but because of how many (surprisingly) of my other friends (both male and female) concurred with his statement.
This assertion led to one of my other friends (also a male interestingly enough) to comment “No way, if my girl was to even hold hands with another guy, there would be problems”.
I found it highly intriguing, and equally amusing, that people have such differing opinions as to what their perception of ‘cheating’ is.

All a Man Wants.

 Written by Thelma Thinks!

"Ladies, ladies, ladies, men dont need love, men dont need good food, men dont even really need good sex, ALL WE NEED IS RESPECT,. When we tell you stay at home and dont go out, or give you instructions we are not being disrespectful we are simply excersicing our god given right as the head of the family to fashion out our future with you. Even International football teams have a head coach who directs the team. We know you have to have a social life, we know you have an opinion but it must be done in moderation. Stay at home and take care of your husband or someone else will. My wife told me she had a training at work for a week and wanted to stay at her aunts house so she could get to work early bcos of lekki traffic, i told her i didnt like the idea but told her i would volunteer to wake up at 4.30am in the morning so i could drive her to work, she did independent woman and still went to her aunts house to stay and when i called her to convey my displeasure she blocked my line. She has been there for 1 and a half weeks, Im now cheating on her with a 25yr old hot girl in our estate and God forbid if she gets pregnant for me i will soo accept it as my 36yr old wife has no kids for me yet. Ladies, Ladies, Ladies its very simple…… DISRESPECT YOUR MAN= GETTING CHEATED ON"

Married for 10 years and suffered several failed pregnancies | The true story behind the McGhee sextuplets

Mia and Rozonno McGhee were married for 10 years and suffered several failed pregnancies before they were able to become parents.

Named Olivia, Madison, Rozonno Jr., Josiah, Elijah and Isaac, their parents decided to share the picture of the sextuplets and it broke the Internet. Even Oprah Winfrey said she had to meet this family and she did. Two years after the children’s birth in Columbus, Ohio, an American reality show called ‘6 Little McGhee’ debuted on December 15, 2012, on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

Why Say YES, When Your Heart Says NO

For every time I go through my Instagram timeline, I see so many ‘She said yes!’ posts and I think that’s totally awesome.
Even more awesome for me because the wedding industry is a very interesting industry full of beautiful wedding ideas, colours etc. Although weddings are beautiful, many people don’t really think about the marriage. I’ve found out that a lot of people especially the ladies get so wrapped up in the idea of the wedding that they forget about the actual commitment they are making to their significant other.

Are Nigerian Christians The Biggest Frauds Ever?

Every morning I wake up, I’m hit with “Godly” messages on my phone and on my radio. Friends and family send messages of “Thanking God for today” and praying for today. At this point, I’m immune to all that. I respect people for their beliefs and all that. But I do get bothered by some of the blatant hypocrisy by so called christians especially when they don’t know they are being hypocrites. A survey was conducted not too long ago which asked the question, “Do You Consider Yourself Religious?” Interestingly enough, most African respondents answered “yes” with Ghana and Nigeria being in the high 90% with respondents in Europe and Asia being in the low numbers.

Stop deceiving us with your Wayo | An open letter from a customer to Etisalat Nigeria

I just got this mail too, it is unedited.

Hi Kemi, Please be my mouthpiece against sharp practises among some networks in Nigeria.

Or this is what to expect in the era of change Nigeria is passing through,I want to disagree.
I don't know why Etisalat network could treat her regular and consistent  customer the way they did to me.

I have given the network the necessary support l could, using it more than other networks in my kitty. I have advertised it to many people who have also joined  the family.
Now see what the network did to me.

Play Your Role: Should Men Wake Up With Crying Babies?

Last week I had a conversation with a friend of mine. He was venting to me about his marriage and shared an argument that he was having with his wife. I’m friends with both of them, so I knew he trusted me to have a non biased opinion. When he began his story, I listened. I made it a point not to respond right away, and I hoped that my opinion wouldn’t cause any more damage.

7 Things Your Friends Don’t Need To Know About Your Relationship

I’m a firm believer that you should share your life with your friends and that it’s important to be able to vent to them about the things in your everyday life. That being said, there are SOME things you should NOT tell your friends about your relationships. This is my list of the things not to tell your friends about your relationships.

Dark Chocolate - Tobi QT

Out of the sizzling pot of 'Dark Chocolate' series and the creative minds behind #TheEpiphanySeries comes yet another alluring work of art.

Dark Chocolate (Da Synopsis) is in a poetic/musical genre of its own. A subtle mix of classic poetry over cool RnB sounds. The Poet extols the colourful qualities of the Black African woman - her charm, warmth, discipline, self-esteem, confidence, imagination, and above all, a versatile mind in a strong and healthy body.

Your 'Black and Proud' mindset will be surely renewed after listening to this amazing 3 minute piece.

Don't Let a Guy Waste Your Most Eligible Years

If you are interested in getting married, you need to be well aware of the fact that you are probably most attractive sometime in your mid- to late-twenties. This means that your mid- to late-twenties are the years in which you are most likely to attract the highest quality man you can get. And while I've written a fair amount about maximizing your attractiveness, it all counts for nothing if you aren't single when the right guy comes along, or if you aren't putting yourself out there because you are involved with someone who is only half-committed to you. So in addition to looking your best, you need to make sure you aren't spending time in dead-end relationships.
