Former first lady Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi dies at 97

  Wife of late Nigerian Military Head of State, Major General J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi, Victoria, is dead. The former First Lady died peacefully on Monday morning, August 23 at the age of 97. She would have been 98 on November 21, 2021. Her husband, and the Supreme Commander of the National Military Government, was killed on July 29, 1966. Chief Mrs. Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi never re-married.

Final-year Ogun Polytechnic Student Slumps While Bathing, Dies


The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has lost a student, Omotoke Suliyat, who slumped in the bathroom.

In an effort to save her life, Suliyat was immediately rushed to a nearby Hope Hospital at Adigbe.

But she was confirmed dead by medical practitioners at the hospital on Sunday, June 13.

According to Vanguard, Suliyat was a student of Higher National Diploma II in the Marketing Department of the institution.

The Speaker of the Students' Representative Council, of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Yusuf Olatunji Mogaji, while confirming the incident, also and expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
